Competitor Profiles – Trevor Stilling/Jon Thompson and Chris Stilling/Rae Waterhouse

Trevor Stilling/Jon Thomson – Datsun Stanza Trevor Stilling is a veteran Canberra driver who has been competing with success for close to 40 years mainly in Datsuns has made the Stilling name a major force in ACT and NSW rallying. Trevor is partnered for the first time in the Alpine by Jon Thomson who is the current chairman of ARCom and is making a return to co-driving after a break of 15 years. His last outing was with Nathan Pretty in the Holden Rally Team in the Australian Safari in 2004.
Thomson has been competing in rallying as a co-driver and driver since 1978 and the pair did 40 km of testing together at the recent Eureka Rush Rally in Ballarat  to get a feel for working together at the Alpine.

It is Trevor’s first Alpine, an event that  has been on his bucket list for some time, while for Thomson it is his first Alpine Rally of East Gippsland, although he competed in many ‘old’ Alpines out of Bright with Jim Middleton, Howard Grove and Paul Gover.
The Stilling/Thomson team will be competing in a newly rebuilt Datsun Stanza following a major crash for Trevor’s previous Stanza in the 2018 Classic Outback Trial.
The team is competing with the help of Manning Automotive, Waterhouse Performance, V Sport Canberra, Cooma Nissan, Kumho Tyre and Simply Music Management without whom competing wouldn’t be possible

Chris Stilling/Rae Waterhouse – Datsun Stanza Son of Canberra Rally veteran Trevor Stilling, Chris Stilling is 21 years of age and is a near novice. It was a dream debut and he hopes to to build experience and conquer the Alpine by making it to the finish.

Before taking on the Alpine he hopes to compete in the Tumut ralllysprint at h Monaro Stages NSW State round and possibly Rally Australia  to build his experience  before tackling the might of the Alpine alongside his father in the rally. Chris is competing in his first Alpine with the support of simply Music Management, Manning Automotive and Waterhouse Performance.
