The effects of the devastating bushfires in East Gippsland last year are still being felt by many communities. In response to these traumatic events, members of the Historic Rally Association have been fundraising over the last twelve months for CFA brigades in East Gippsland who have worked with the Lock & Load Alpine Rally over many years.
Recently we were able to distribute some of those funds and one of the brigades supported was Bemm River. Brigade captain Russell Pardew was very thankful to recieve the funds on behalf of his community and said the money will go towards the creation and commissioning of a new high tech sprinkler system on the fire station.
This means the fire station can become a safe place for all members of the community in the event of another catastrophic fire in the future
