The Lock & Load Transport Alpine Rally of East Gippsland which was postponed in 2021 is set to return on December 1 to 4 this year.
After the disappointment of needing to postpone the Lock & Load Alpine Rally last year, our organising team have been busy reworking the details of the event which is set to be the best yet. So, here’s a recap of what the resurected Centenary event looks like.
Date: December 1st to 4th 2022
Location: All four days start and finish in beautiful Lakes Entrance in East Gippsland, Victoria.
Thursday, December 1st: Three Special Stages for the day based close to Lakes Entrance totaling 38.1 km.
Friday, December 2nd: Ten Special Stages for the day centred around Orbost totaling 186.7 km. There will be three service breaks out of Orbost Recreation Reserve so service crews don’t have to move for the day. Longest stage on this day will be 61.4km.
Saturday, December 3rd: Our High Country Day starts at Ensay Hotel and traverses eight Special Stages through the Victorian Alps before finishing with a blast around Bairnsdale Speedway. Total stage distance comes in at 140.2 km with the longest stage for the day at 54.3 km.
Sunday, December 4th: The final five stages of the event will be on the fast and fun logging roads in the forests north of Bruthen totaling 113.3 km with the longest stage at 38.9 km. Last car is scheduled to finish the day at 4.30pm giving crews plenty of time to get ready for the Sunday evening Celebration Dinner at St Brendans Hall in Lakes Entrance.
Total special stage distance for the event is 478.3km with another 525.6km transport distance for a total event distance of 1003.9 km.
